Job Description

About the role
As a Material Handler, you will support production operations by managing material movement and carrying out quality inspections to ensure components meet required specifications. This hands‑on role combines material handling with quality control responsibilities, working closely with a variety of production teams.
This role is well suited to someone with experience in manufacturing who enjoys practical work, attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support material movement including loading, unloading, and feeding materials to machines
  • Assist with planning raw material and finished goods movement within the department
  • Maintain good housekeeping and a safe, organised work area
  • Inspect components and products against drawings and specifications
  • Carry out component and sample inspections as required
  • Report inspection results, including defect and failure rates
  • Inspect returned components from production lines and support defect reporting
  • Receipt manufactured goods into inventory and put stock away correctly
  • Assist with training new staff and cross‑training across departments
  • Follow all health, safety, and PPE requirements
     

Desired Skills and Experience

What you will bring to the role:

  • 1–3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Current Class 1 Driver Licence.
  • Proven experience operating forklifts with a current license
  • A systems‑driven and organised approach with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work safely, efficiently, and to high quality standards in a busy environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications
  • Basic to intermediate skills in Microsoft Word and Excel
